The Clearing
A Multiple Award-Winning Film
Story: The Clearing is set on the outskirts of a rural town, where an African-American boy named Nelson becomes entranced by a mystical 90-year-old story teller and healer named Medekai. Refusing to leave as a severe thunder storm approaches, Medekai remains to be “one with the natural rhythm as he dances the tides.” The young boy dances with him until Medekai, a modern day griot, vanishes into the storm.
